Lowell Jerome Koebnick, age 84, lost his battle to cancer on Saturday, May 25, 2019. He spent his final days surrounded by friends and family in his home in Nevis, MN. Lowell was born on May 13, 1935, in Grafton, Minnesota, to Elvin and Mabel (Peterson) Koebnick, the second of five children. He lived the last 50+ years at his current residence having moved there in the 1960’s. Lowell spent most of his adult years in service to the community, first, working at the school. Later he began 20 years of work for the City of Nevis Police Department; and after a short retirement, he returned to serve in the Hubbard County Sheriff’s Department for nearly another 20 years, not retiring until he was almost 80. Lowell recently received an award for 50 years of teaching firearm safety to the kids of the community.
Lowell is survived by his wife Lottie; his children Allen, Susan, Brenda, and Mark; stepchildren Chris and Lisa; brother Lee, and sisters Lynette and Lorraine; daughters-in-law Davie and Edwina; sons-in-law James and Mark; his first wife Fay Koebnick, and many other beloved relatives including grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2019, at 11:00am at Bethany Lutheran Church in Nevis. In lieu of flowers, please give donations at www.gofundme.com/koebnick-family.
