Boe Ingwald Antonson, 93, passed away Saturday, May 25, 2019 at Edgewood May Creek, Walker, Minnesota.
Boe was born May 25, 1926 in Tisselskog, Sweden to Helga and Ivan Antonson. The family came to the United States when Boe was 6 months old. He started school in Duluth and then moved to Wisconsin where he finished the 8th grade. Boe served in the US Army in World War II from 1944 to 1946. On June 13, 1948 he married his sweetheart, Joan Anderson. The couple lived in Turtle Lake, WI, and Duluth, MN, and then in Esko, MN for 40 years where they raised their family. In 1999 they moved to Longville, MN and operated Chippewa Lodge with their daughter and son-in-law. In 2016, Boe and Joanie moved together to the May Creek Senior Living Campus in Walker, MN.
Boe is survived by his wife Joanie; son Steve (Tim); daughter Karen (Jim); 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister Lorraine; brothers Roger and Bruce; and many nieces and nephews. Boe was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Stig and Roy, and sister Ruth.
We want to say a very special thank you to May Creek Senior Living and St. Joseph Hospice for their exceptional care; they truly are our “Angels.” A gathering of friends will be held Friday, June 21, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Salem Lutheran Church in Longville with a Celebration of Life memorial service to follow at 11:00 AM.
