Wilson LeRoy GravesMarch 20, 1945 ~ April 15, 2017 (age 72)
Wilson LeRoy Graves “Ininiiaanakwad” (Man Cloud), 72, of Redby, MN entered the spirit world Saturday, April 15, 2017 at the VA Hospital in St. Cloud, MN.
Wilson was born March 20, 1945 in Red Lake, MN to Walter, Sr. and Grace (Rosebear) Graves. In 1966, he entered into the U.S. Army and served from September 20, 1966 to September 19, 1968. He received a National Defense Service Medal, a Vietnam Service Medal, a Vietnamese Campaign Medal, a Combat Infantryman’s Badge, an Expert Badge (45 Caliber Pistol), and was awarded a Purple Heart.
He is survived by his wife, Bonita Whitefeather; daughters, Denise Whitefeather and Essie (Graves) Bierbrauer; his special grandson whom he raised, James Whitefeather; step children, Randall, Delwyn (Sara), Edward, Anita (Dale), and Alex (Maggie) Whitefeather; 17 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Wilson was preceded in death by his father, Walter Graves, Sr.; his mother, Grace (Rosebear) Graves; grandmother, Myrtle Rosebear; brothers, Archie Graves, Walter Graves, Jr., Harold “Z-man” Graves, Sr., and Anthomy Wells; sisters, Carol Graves and Elsie Graves.
A traditional vigil will begin Thursday, April 20, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. at the Ponemah Boys and Girls Club. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 11:00 a.m., also at the Ponemah Boys and Girls Club. Steve Jackson will officiate and interment will follow in the Graves/Rosebear Burial Grounds in Ponemah.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Graves, Harold “J.R.” Graves, John Graves, Christopher Wells, Daniel Wells, Ronald Pepworth, Donald Pepworth, Keith Schoenborn, Jr., Anthony Morrison, Chris Morrison and Zack Morrison.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: James Whitefeather, Teara Whitefeather, Breanna Omen, Trent Whitefeather, William Omen, Essie Bierbrauer (Graves), Debbie Lynn Graves, Star Graves, Doreen Wells, Barb Graves, Marilee Strong, and Mike Strong.
