Lucille Pearl Bajula, 100, of Walker, MN, died Saturday, March 24, 2018, at the Community Care Center in Stuart, Iowa.
Lucille was born November 1, 1917 in Brainerd, MN to Benjamin and Pearl Cunningham. She was raised in the Brainerd area and graduated from Brainerd High School. She married Armand Bajula and the couple made their home in Walker, MN. Lucille initially worked at Walker Dry Cleaners but became a nurse and worked at Ah Gwah Ching Center for many years. She retired at age 65, to care for her husband.
Lucille loved to cook and particularly enjoyed flower gardening. She was very active, hard-working and healthy, carrying water by hand to her full-sized garden, as running water was not available in her home. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Bonnita (Gene) Geohrke, and Rose (Thomas) Conley; 8 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren. Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Armand; children, Janet, Charlie, and Gary; sister, Lois; and brother, Basil.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, March 29, 2018 at 1:00 PM in the chapel at Dennis Funeral Home, with visitation one hour prior to service. Rev. Bob Dennis will officiate, and interment will be in the spring in Turtle Lake Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Dennis Funeral Home (www.dennisfuneralhome.com)
