Alice Thuesen MoeMarch 18, 1931 ~ July 21, 2017 (age 86)
Alice Thuesen Moe, 86, of Longville, MN died at her home Friday, July 21, 2017.
Alice was born March 18, 1931 to Harold and Clara (Ingvaldson) Thuesen in Albert Lea, MN, where she grew up and attended school. She went on to attend the University of Minnesota and on July 8, 1952 she married Donald Stanley Moe. Alice established a career in the U.S. Navy Reserve, training at the Wold-Chamberlain Naval Base in Minneapolis-St. Paul. In 1957, she and her husband purchased property on Long Lake, near Longville, MN and built Deer Trail Resort, where Alice lived until her death.
Alice is fondly remembered as having a great sense of humor and being a “rule follower.” She enjoyed gardening, reading, traveling, hunting and playing her trombone. She was an active member of Salem Lutheran Church.
Survivors include son, Steven J. (Cynthia) Moe, of Loretto, MN; daughter, Sherrie (William) Bartolotto, of Spring Park, MN; 5 grandchildren; 1 niece; 1 nephew; and long-time caregiver, Rebecca Ryan.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; and daughter, Nancy Carol Moe.
Visitation for Alice will begin at 10:00 AM with her funeral service at 11:00 AM at Thursday, July 27, 2017 at Salem Lutheran Church, Longville, MN. Pastor Trish Jorgenson will officiate. Arrangements are being made by Dennis Funeral Home of Walker. (www.dennisfuneralhome.com)
