Sonnie Ryan Ringley, 26, of Onigum, Minnesota passed away Saturday, September 7, 2013 at Essentia Health in Fargo surrounded by his family.
Sonnie was born June 12, 1987 in Norton, Virginia and graduated in 2007 from Denton High School in Denton, North Carolina. Following high school he worked for Parsons Masonry as a mason laborer. He moved back to Minnesota in 2009 and worked a variety of jobs. Sonnie enjoyed spending time at the casino, fishing and sports, especially playing basketball and football. He was a jokster, loved to tease, and knew how to have fun. Maintaining close ties with old friends and making new ones was Sonnie’s way of life. He had no enemies, never met a stranger, and was always willing to help anyone who had a need. As an organ donor he continues to give of himself to others. His presence will be sadly missed by his family, and his large circle of friends.
Sonnie is survived by his mother Sheryl Silcox, father Jeffrey Ringley, sister Selina, stepbrother and stepsister; Lena and Perry Smith, Jr., stepfather Perry Smith, Sr., Niece Aubree, Grandmothers; Evelyn Monroe and Fern Ringley, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his Grandfather Wayne H. Ringley, Great Grandmothers; Isabelle Monroe, Betty Joe Bates, Great Grandfather George Bates, Uncles; Harold Monroe, David Stone Ringley, Aunt Jerri Lynn Ringley, and cousins Christina Johnson and Tonya Monroe.
Pallbearers will be Steve Kent, Jason Silcox, Delbert Rushman, Michael Reese, Luiz Delarosa, LeRoy Gale.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Mike Washington, Travis Sayers, Selina Ringley, Mike Chosa, Perry smith, Adrian Sayers, Lena Smith, Kerri Lynn Gaulke, Jon Ellis, Daniel Ringley David Ringley, Spike Ringley, Gregory Ringley, Howard Pickett, Joe Parsons, Tracy Bruner, Rhonda Crabtree, Grant Gustafson, Carolee Geving, Leticia Rodriguez, Amanda Morrison, Adriana Brown, Hannah Russell, Aurora Dewey, the Denton, North Carolina football team, the rest of “The Team”, and numerous other friends.
The wake for Sonnie will begin Thursday, September 12, 2013 at 5:00 pm at the Onigum Community Center and run until the funeral service which will be on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 11:00 at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Onigum with Pastor Mark Olson officiating. Interment will be in the St. John’s Episcopal Church Cemetery.
