Patsy Jean Halvorson,76, of Walker, Minnesota passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at Sanford Health in Fargo, North Dakota. Patsy was born July 17, 1935 in Whipholt, Minnesota to Harold and Ann (Finneman) Cook. She attended school in Longville and Walker, graduating from Walker High School in 1953. Following high school she moved to Minneapolis where she met and married Oren Halvorson in 1954. They lived in the Minneapolis area and in Arizona prior to moving back to Pequot Lakes. Patsy had her beauty shop in the Brad-Mor Motel which her husband Oren built, and developed a reputation of being the hairdresser for well known entertainers that performed at Breezy Point. After Patsy was widowed she moved to Mesquite, Nevada for eight years and then moved back to Walker where she has lived since. Patsy always looked forward to her trips to the casino, and loved to play cards and bingo. She was a great cook and an exceptional baker. Patsy was a vibrant, gracious woman who had a way of making people feel at ease and always showed interest in others. Patsy was a lifetime member of the American Legion in Pequot Lakes, and a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Walker. Patsy is survived by two sons; Greg Halvorson and Brad Halvorson of San Jose, California, two grandsons, several cousins, nieces and nephews, and her dog George. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Oren, and sister Jerry. A Memorial Open House to honor Patsy’s memory will be held Sunday, June 10, 2012 from 1:00 – 3:00 P.M. at the Senior Center in Walker.
